177ONT planterAnd adding to the already extensive line-up of seeding equipment, John Deere introduces the most productive 24 row 30-inch-spaced planter in it''s history, the new 177ONT CCS front-fold planter.Designed with a new frame, new hydraulics, new drive system, and new markers, this planter offers more value and covers more acres in less time than any other 24-row planter on the market.The planter has been re-designed with a new, stronger frame to handle the toughest conditions. It is a 3-section flexible frame with a new vertical truss design. A massive 16- x 8-inch telescoping hitch improves maneuverability and adds strength to the planter.

"Material handling and threshing performance on all STS combines has been enhanced because of a new, wider right-hand radius profile on the concave," Moron says. "The increased right-hand threshing width promotes faster, smoother crop flow with more complete threshing. The wider concave radius also helps to reduce overall power consumption in high-volume, tough material handling crop conditions."Adding to the productivity of the 9760 STS and the 9860 STS is a new high capacity unloading system. Delivering a 150 percent increase in the unloading rate versus previous models, the high-capacity system unloads at 3.3 bushels per second, the fastest unloading rate of any combine produced today. The high-capacity unloading system is standard equipment on the 9860 STS and optional on the 9760 STS.

"The new combines also feature a heavy-duty variable-drive feederhouse with greater capacity than previous models," says Moron. "Upper-variable-drive and lower-reverser-gear-case sheaves are now 50 mm larger in diameter. They provide more drive belt surface contact, which increases drive capacity and reduces friction heat. It is especially valuable when running 8- or 12-row cornheads at higher ground speeds."This feature is standard on corn 9760 STS and 9860 STS combines and an option on all other 60 Series machines.

Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters. These cutters'' geometry allows the operator to drill multi-layered truck frames in a single pass.
