Response rate, header height, and row unit height can be conveniently adjusted on-the-go from the cab. Simple buttons are used to raise and lower the unit, and the old levers and mechanical linkages have all been replaced with state-of-the-art electronic controls. Row-Trak Guidance is also available on the new head. With this system, the operator will automatically stay on the row without constant steering adjustments. Simply line-up the stripper with the rows, hit the Row-Trak Guidance switch, and the system will take over, steering the stripper and keeping it on the row.
To assist the operator in adjusting the combine for various crops and conditions, a new TouchSet automatic combine adjustment is available on the new 60 Series STS combines. All required separator crop settings, including the all-new remote shoe adjustment, can be adjusted with the touch of a button in the cab."TouchSet hydraulics are standard on all STS combines. This advanced hydraulic system uses an independent control valve to enable the operator to have infinite variable control over the feederhouse and header raise-and-lower rates. Two control knobs under the armrest console provide convenient operation and the header can be raised manually or automatically."
"The new combines also feature a heavy-duty variable-drive feederhouse with greater capacity than previous models," says Moron. "Upper-variable-drive and lower-reverser-gear-case sheaves are now 50 mm larger in diameter. They provide more drive belt surface contact, which increases drive capacity and reduces friction heat. It is especially valuable when running 8- or 12-row cornheads at higher ground speeds."This feature is standard on corn 9760 STS and 9860 STS combines and an option on all other 60 Series machines.
Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters. These cutters'' geometry allows the operator to drill multi-layered truck frames in a single pass.
